NOTICE
WAYNE TOWNSHIP PROPERTY OWNERS, COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPERS, AND COMMERCIAL TREE SERVICE PROVIDERS
Please be aware of the following:
Pursuant to Chapter #129 of the Township Code, in certain instances, the commercial landscaper, tree service provider, or the owner of the property where the tree work is to be performed must first apply for a Tree Removal Permit from the Department of Parks and Recreation before any trees are removed.

A MUNICIPAL COURT SUMMONS WITH FINES OF UP TO $1,000 UPON CONVICTION OF THE ORDINANCE VIOLATION WILL BE IMPOSED TO THE TREE SERVICE PROVIDER IF WORK IS PERFORMED WITHOUT PROOF OF AN APPROVED TOWNSHIP TREE REMOVAL PERMIT OR IF ADDITIONAL WORK BEYOND THE SCOPE OF THE APPROVED PERMIT IS PERFORMED.
A permit is required for the removal of trees under the following situations:
- Removal of more than four (4) trees which are eight (8) inches or greater in diameter, but less than eighteen (18) inches in diameter, within the twelve (12) month period following the issuance of a permit from the Department of Parks and Recreation.
- The removal of a single tree which is eighteen (18) inches or greater in diameter.
The removal of trees less than 8” in diameter does not require a Tree Removal Permit.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT A MUNICIPAL SUMMONS WILL BE ISSUED TO THOSE PERSONS OR COMMERCIAL LANDSCAPERS/TREE SERVICE PROVIDERS FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE TOWNSHIP CODE CHAPTER #129.
